Malvan is an ideal destination for a quite weekend away near the beach. The long stretch of beaches extending from Chivla to the Devbag peninsular offer some of the most beautiful beaches in Maharashtra. The Karli river meets the sea at the Devbag Sangam and the rendezvous of the sea and the river offer some scenic vistas reminiscent of postcard pictures.
The coast near Tarkarli is abundant with coral reefs and also is blessed with clear waters making Tarkarli a great site for SCUBA Diving. The vicinity of the Sindhudurg fort is the primary site for SCUBA Diving in Tarkarli. Tourists are ferried from the beach right in front of the resort to the diving site for SCUBA Diving and snorkeling.
Water sports and parasailing in the sea is organized at the Dandi beach near the SCUBA Diving dive site. Water sports is also organized at the Tsunami island however at Dandi you can avoid the wait time to reach the island and the extra cost of boating to reach the Tsunami island (Rs 700)!
A sea fort which can be visited from the Malvan jetty is a major attraction of Malvan. You can have a distant view of the fort right from Susham beach resort.
A small island which goes under water during high tides, Tsunami island is another spot in Malvan where one could enjoy water sports and parasqiling in the sea.

Susham beach resort is located right on Wayari Bhootnath beach which is an extension of the Tarkarli stretch of beach. The beaches here are known for its soft white sands.
